Through the support of the Florida Legislature and the Florida Department of Health, the Florida AHEC Network has made it a priority to provide tobacco cessation opportunities throughout the State, while training current and future healthcare professionals on how to assist tobacco-using patients.
Tobacco Cessation
“Quit Smoking Now” (QSN) classes are being offered throughout the North Florida area. This series of 6 classes provides tobacco users with the information, resources, and support they need to quit smoking now.
In addition, we are happy to provide assistance to worksites interested in providing cessation resources and information to their employees.

Training for Professionals
Northeast Florida AHEC works with various healthcare facilities to assist them in helping patients and staff quit using tobacco. By providing workshops and on-site trainings on tobacco-related topics, providers can develop effective ways of identifying and assisting tobacco users to become tobacco-free.
In addition, we provide training and resources to college programs that prepare health-career students to effectively educate and assist their future patients.

Health Care Providers Referrals
We strive to work in conjunction with many health care providers to assist their patients in ending their tobacco habit. To refer a tobacco user, simply download the referral form and print copies for your patients to fill out and fax back to us. We will then contact them directly about our Quit Smoking Now Program and start them on the path to a tobacco free lifestyle.
